Eviction notice has been given

Cooper has been given his eviction notice by the doctor. We had our 39 week appointment on Friday and we had made some progress since the previous week's visit. We went from 2 cm dilated to 3.5, which is really good because the doctor said they consider a patient to be in active labor at 4 cm.

The doctor suggested that she make an appointment for me to have an induction for Wednesday, March 30. So as of right now we are to show up at the hospital between 7 and 7:30 a.m. to get the show on the road. I'm nervous about doing an induction because of the increased possibility of not progressing and having to have a C-section. But the doctor said that I'm favorable and that she thinks I will do just fine. To be honest, I think if I didn't do the induction this week, I'd be doing it next week because I don't think Cooper is going to come on his own. I'm not really having any contractions, obviously something is happening for me to be at 3.5 cm dilated but not strong enough or consistent enough for me to go to the hospital. Plus, the pelvic and hip pain is only getting worse as the days go by.

Nonetheless, we are very excited. We were having dinner on Friday night and I told Kevin, "can you believe that at this time next week we'll be sitting here having dinner except Cooper is going to be here with us?" It's all very mind blowing that in just a few days our life is going to change, but for the better.

Hopefully we are ready!

Week 39 ... and counting

Well ... here we are at 39 weeks, Kevin and I were just saying that it still feels like we just found out we were having a baby and now here we are on the brink of welcoming Cooper into the world. As of my appointment last week I was measuring at 2 cm dilated and 75 percent effaced ... meaning, Cooper isn't quite ready to make his appearance.

When we met with one of the doctors a month or so ago he said that at 39 weeks, if you haven't had the baby yet, they start discussing induction as an option and that at 40 they start encouraging it. I'm thinking this might be the case with me, they think at 40 weeks that Cooper will be roughly 8 pounds, I can't imagine they'll let me go much longer for fear that he'll be a much bigger baby.

It's finally now that I am starting to feel like I am truly pregnant. Today my left foot swollen, but only left. My pelvic, hip and back pain is at an all-time high. Walking is painful to say the least and its at its worst at night when I am trying to sleep, sometimes Kevin has to help me rollover in bed and I do have my days where he has to help me put my shoes and socks on.

Despite all the pain I know it will all be worth it in the end when Cooper is here.

We will make sure to update everyone after our appointment on Friday, till then, everyone pray for me that this baby comes soon!
